Natural Hand Crafted Perfume
How my journey began
For years I have been a skeptic of the extensive use of synthetics in everyday products. Stories are regularly released announcing some or other commonly used synthetic chemical produces concerning effects on our health, or the environment. Sadly, the overwhelming majority of perfumes are manufactured with synthetics.
Knowing this I avoided perfumes altogether. Scented products became distasteful. Every product was potentially harmful. Every scent could be bad for my health. Though for good reason, I realized I could not appreciate even good healthy scents because of my continuous suspicion and distrust. I was reminded that God intended sweet aroma and fragrance to be beautiful, and so I became motivated to rediscover perfume from a natural perspective.
My journey started by tincturing dried flowers and vanilla beans in my
bedroom. Later I learned about other extraction methods like absolutes, resinoids, steam distilling, and cold-pressed. The psychological impact fragrance has is also an amazing subject. I am excited to share with you what I have learned, and
the natural perfumes I have created.

The comforting scent of Lavender touched with Lily, develops into a lovely Lavender and Vanilla combination
Madonna
A heavy floral scent with notes of lily, violet flower and a touch of jasmine, finishing off in a vanilla-cedar like note along with the prominent and rich scent of violet leaf.
Lorien
Sandalwood and Cedarwood Atlas blended with the soft florals of Rhododendron and Lily and a touch of spice.
Serendipity
Entrance of fresh lime and herbs. Developing into a beautiful lavender, marjoram, patchouli medley. Finishing off into the comforting scents of vanilla and patchouli.
Origami ~ from Prop to Product
The origami all started because I was looking for props for perfume product photos. Something that would represent ingredients that went into each perfume. I remembered piddling around with origami as a childhood and thought I would give it a go. I made several pieces for the purpose. Everyone I shared them with loved the origami so much I decided to include a miniature origami with every perfume. In short order I decided to include full fledged origami and paper art flower arrangements to my repertoire.
